The Rainbow we display in June to celebrate the diversity and beauty of humans made in God’s image reflects the diversity and beauty of the Triune God who is our Creator. As it says in Scripture:
“Just like the appearance of the rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day so was the appearance of brilliance that surrounded him. Such was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD.” (Ezekiel 1.28)
With this in mind, we pray for all our sisters and brothers celebrating LGBTQ+ Pride Month:
O Holy Trinity, God of Diversity and Inclusion, known to us in the person of Jesus Christ: As we celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride month, we lift up to you all of our Queer sisters and brothers. We remember their struggles and sacrifices to be treated with the respect and dignity that is due to all of your children. And we commit ourselves to love our Transgender neighbors as we love our Cisgender neighbors, as we love our Gay Neighbors, and as we love our Straight neighbors. Help us to Love one another as children of God, just as you Love us, and sent your Son to be Savior of us all. It is in his Name we pray. Amen.
